Day 27

For todays blog I am just going to talk about my complete pastiche. I still have a few things left for me to do. I haven't been keeping up with my blogging and I still need to do a least 20 more comments on my friends. I have had fun with this project and its really exciting. But I am a little scared that my story won't come out with a enough culture in it.

I haven't really found that much culture. I know what people in Brazil eat, I know what language they speak, I know that they celebrate a lot of things. But I need to research Brazilian weddings, because I am going to have a wedding in my story. I also need to research more about what they wear, and what exactly it is that they celebrate. I still have lot of work to do but so little time to do it.

Day 26

During this project, I have learned a lot. I have learned to use blogger, which is very new to me. I enjoyed working on it. It was a lot easier then writing it on paper. I learned a lot about Brazil. I like their culture. I still plan to accomplish a lot in the next 3 days.

This project was a very fun experience. I hope I do this in the future. Mr. Prier has made research papers fun and easy. But I still have not decided on everything for my Blurb Book. I want my started point to be "Once Upon A TIme" but people have been telling me that I should start it out differently so it will be unique.

Day 25

After reading my manuscripte it sounds like is all strand together. I would like it to be in parts. I want to add more of the culture of Brazil. I would also like to add more details. I flows nicely but it does not really sound right to me. I feel like something is missing. I do not really know whayt style I wrote it in. There is not much conversation in my story and I like it that way but I think there needs to be more conversation.

There are a lot of things I still want to include. For example, the weddings of each girl and their prince. I would like it to be a double wedding (the two wedding together, at the same time). I decided to take the quinceanera part out because then they would not be able to get married because I feel that they would be too young to get married.

Day 24

The climax of my pastiche would be the part where the bear comes to their house in the woods and asks for shelter throughout the winter. I pick this because this is were they first meet the bear and because this is the first action part because the girl get scared and run and hide in different places of the house. I think this is a good place to start if this part wouldn't of happened then they wouldn't of found out he was a prince in the end. I want to keep this part in my pastiche.

I would also say that the first time they help the dwarf could also be the climax because it kind of prevents the bear from killing him sooner. If the bear would of came across the dwarf being stuck and then he would of killed him sooner and then the girls wouldn't of seen him do it and then they wouldn't have run away in fear. Then the bear wouldn't of yelled asking them to wait for him. I think there could be various different climaxes in my pastiche.

Day 23

My character social responsibilities will be that they are respectful to everyone and everything. They do not complain. They do as their told. My characters are kind of the perfect child. They do everything that they are told: cook, clean, run errands, shopping, go find food, and more. Their mother only has to ask them once and she doesn’t have to get angry or anything. They are so sweet to the animals. If you have seen or read “Snow White and The 7 Dwarfs” then I guess you can say they act just like her.

When the girls go out for their mother, they always stay together and never linger. Sometimes they have to sleep in the forest but their mom doesn’t mind because she knows that they are safe because they are nice to all the creatures and to everyone, so in return they are all nice to them and they look out for them. For the actions of the girls, they get good results.

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

Day 22

The theme to Snow-White and Rose-Red in my opinion is that they keep helping the dwarf get out of his situations when he is in trouble. If they wouldn’t of helped him then it wouldn’t of came to the point where the bear got to kill the dwarf. The girls wouldn’t of saw it so therefore they wouldn’t of ever found out that he was really a prince. I also think that “Good defeats evil” in this story because the bear is sweet and doesn’t want to hurt anyone but the dwarf is grumpy, rude, and disrespectful so he got the short end of the stick.

I also think that “We cannot defeat an external evil until we acknowledge our own dark side” because the bear had to find his own inner evil to be able to defeat him. He deserved it though because he was so rude. The things that I believe support the moral or message at the end are:

-The bear killing the dwarf

-The girls helping the dwarf out of his situation twice

-The girls helping the bear in the first place when he needed shelter in the winter.

Day 21

I want the beginning of my pastiche to start out "Once upon a time" because it sounds like a good place to start. I think this is the best starting for a fairytale story. Most stories start with "Once upon a time" because its what happens a long time ago, but I do not want my story to start far back into the past. I would like it to be maybe in the 1800 or something. "Once upon a time" I believe works with the stories that have magic, or magical creatures in it. Or a story that has a happy ever after. My story has a happy ever after.

I believe fairy tales should start out "Once Upon A Time" because the story is not trust. It has some kind of twist to it. The twist is usually the magically person or object that help the girl or guy get to her happily ever after. In Cinderella that would be the godmother but Snow-White and Rose-Red, there really is not a magically creature that helps them get their fairy tale ending. There is the dwarf but he is trying to keep the Prince from his fairy tale ending but in the end the girls get theirs too.

Day 20

For my 15 illustrations, I have not really thought about it but now that I am thinking about my story and what is going to happen I kind of have some images in my mind. I have thought about the Quinceanera, and how I want the sisters being in their dresses and with their main Chambelanes. I also want to show how the dwarf needing help twice. I do not have a lot of ideas about the pictures. I would like to draw them myself but I am not that good at drawing people. I think I am going to try and if I can not do it then I will find another way.

I have thought about having a friend draw them but I would rather find a way to do it on the computer then to have someone draw it for me. I want to make a drawing of at least every character that is mentioned in my story. For example, there will be a drawing of Neve (Snow-White), Encarnado (Rose-Red), Rosa (the mother), Cobra Encantada (the dwarf), Prince Davi (the bear, and Prince Thiago. There will be animals too. There will also be this mysterious person that they wake up to in the forest. The person was just sitting there watching them like it was protecting them but when they woke up, he/she got up and walked away. I would like to include that.

Saturday, January 23, 2010

Day 19

In my pastiche I believe I am missing a lot of things. For example, the mother is always fixing food and Neve is always helping, but I would like to put in what they are making. I think my pastiche is missing the celebration, the food, the traditions and probably so much more. I would like to add these things because I want to show what the Brazilian culture is like. I would like to show the difference between our culture and Brazilian culture. I have always wanted to learn more about Brazilian and other cultures and now is the time to do so. This is giving me that oppertunity.

The Brazilian food isn't that different from other hispanic foods. They have Carne de Asada, tacos, burritos, and so much more ethintic foods. The food is delicious and I want to show that. And they have a lot of culture traditions, for example, the quinceanera. The quince is a traditional party where a young girl become a woman at age 15. Its very special, but I would like to add that to my pastiche as well.

I have thought about how I can add a quinceanera, and I think instead of the two sisters getting married, I think I will have them have their quinceanera instead. Prince Davi and Thiago will be their main Chambelanes. I haven't figured how to add it though.

Friday, January 22, 2010

Day18

I have found a few other folktales in Brazilian culture. The first one is called “The Dreaming Tree”. The second one is called “Dancing Turtle”. That was all that I found. I also found that Brazil doesn’t have a lot of folktales or fairytales, but they do have a lot of myths and stories but are not specifically folktales or fairytales. But a few stories/myths that I have found are called “Sací-Pererê” and “Boto (The River Dolphin)”.

Sací-Pererê was about a little black boy, really really naughty, who can do magic, turn into whirlwind, likes to hide others people's things, play with the horse's hair, scare the people, and play a lot of other pranks. The description of Sací is that hi is little black boy with a single leg and wearing a kind of red hat (where Sací's magic cam from) and he was always smoking. According to the legend, there is a way to capture the Sací and that is when he is a whirlwind. One must get a bolter and place that on the whirlwind, then capture the Sací and put him in a battle. At that point the person who caught him can tell him to make things for him.

The boto is a kind of dolphin which lives in the rivers, but in Brazilian folklore there is also another story. The boto at night becomes a man, a ladies' man, who is a good dancer, and sometimes get the women pregnant. He always wears a hat to hide a hole on his head through which he breaths.

The "Boto" and "Sací-Pererê" are not folktales, they are just stories/myths, and I do no believe that they have any morals or culture lessons. But I think Sací-Pererê is a story that shows how bad things happen and why they happen. This stories are pretty good but I would like to know more details about them but I could only find the description and location of the River Dolphin.

Day 17

The other story I read by Andrew Lang was "Cinderella, or the Little Glass Slipper". It is a little different from Cinderella. It is about a girl who was amazingly beautiful and her step-mother was very jealous, so she made he do all the dirty work around the house. She didn't just do the dirty work, she also gave her two step-sisters advice on what to wear, and everything else. One day all of them find out that there is a ball at the King and Prince's palace. The two step-sisters explain to Cinderella (Cinderwench) what exactly they want to wear for the ball. But when the day comes and the two step-sisters are ready to go, Cinderella watches them leave and when they get out of sight, Cinderella starts to cry. Her fairy godmother comes to her and has her bring a pumpkin from the garden, the godmother turns it into a fine coach, gilded all over with gold. Then she ask Cinderella to check the mouse trap. The godmother turns the six mice into 6 light colored gray horses. Then Cinderella checks another mouse trap for some more, but when she checks, all she find are two rats. The godmother picks one out of the three to turn it into coachman. Cinderella went to the ball and everyone was a amazed by her looks. The Prince couldn't stop looking at her. The second night of the ball she left her glass slipper behind, and Prince's servants came to their door asking for the ladies to try on the slipper. The step-sisters couldn't fit it, but Cinderella could. The step-sisters threw themselves at her feet begging for her forgiveness. She forgave them. Got married a few days later. She let her step-sister live with her and she hooked them up with two great lord of the Court.

My story is about two young girls named Rose-Red and Snow-White. They were named after their mother's favorite rose bushes in the front yard. They are sweet, gentle, nice, wonder girls. They help their mother and other animals. During the Winter a bear comes to the house asking for a shelter to settle in. The mother lets him in and while he lays by the fire, the girl hit and tease him. He stays calm and when they get to rough he asks them to not kill him. He comes to their house every night at the same time throughout the Winter season. But when Summer comes he leave to find the dwarf. A few days later the girls come across the dwarf, but he has his beard stuck in a log. And because he can't remove it himself, they have to cut the beard. A few days later, the girls come across him again and he was stuck in a fish rod and a fish was pulling him in. The girl had to cut his beard again so that he could be released. Then a few days later, they come across him again, but at that moment they see a bear kill him by hitting him with his paw. The girls screamed and ran away but the bear yelled after them. But they recognized the voice so they stopped and waited. A few days later Snow-White married the Prince (the bear) and Rose-Red married his brother.

There are so many difference between these two stories. "Cinderella or the Glass Slipper" is a story about a girl who is left with her step-mother and her two step-sisters, she gets treated badly but in the end she still has good luck and marries the man of her dreams. "Snow-White and Rose-Red" is about two sisters who are nice to everyone and always do good and they still are lucky in the end and they marry two Princes. "Cinderella or the Glass Slipper" is a fairytale, but "Snow-White and Rose-Red" is a Beast Folktale. There is a man who is cursed into a bear but breaks it. The similarities are that in both stories Cinderella, Rose-Red and Snow-White still get a guy, well a Prince, and live happily ever after.

The message in "Cinderella or the Glass Slipper" is that even though you don't start out with a good life, you might just get one in the end or that you should always forgive and forget. Cinderella forgave her two step-sisters for treating her badly, and for apologizing they still got there happy ending but just not the one they wanted. And the message in "Snow-White and Rose-Red" I think would be that you will always get what you deserve when you do the right thing. The message are kind of similar. In the one story the girl is treated badly but is always nice in the end but she still gets the Prince in the end. And the two girls in the second story where nice and did the right thing all their life and even though the dwarf was rude and mean to them they still helped him, but he got what he deserved in the end (death), and so did the girls (marriage).

Day 16

My characters names are Neve (Snow-White), Encarnado (Rose-Red), the mom is Rosa, the bear is Prince Davi, his brother is Prince Thiago, and the shapeshifter does not have a name, she is call the Cobra-Encartada. Neve and Encarnada talk very solf and gently. Rosa, the mom will also speak in a soft and gentle tone of voice but just not a soft and gentle, she will have a more firm voice. Prince Davi (the bear) will talk in a gently, semi-deep voice because he is the tall dark and handsome type of guy. Prince Thiago will be the same way but his voice will be a little more deeper thena Prince Davi.

The part where Prince Davi (the bear) kills the shapeshifter, this is where the conversation starts:

Prince Davi (the bear)- Neve! Encarnado! Esperame por favor! Don't be afraid, I want to come with you.
*The girls recognized the voice, so they had stopped and waited. But when the bear appear in front of them, he was no longer a bear but a handsome Prince.
Neve- You are not our friendly bear! Are you?
Price Davi- Yes I am, its just that the Cobra Encantada put a curse on me because I did not want to be with her.
Neve- But how?
Prince Davi- She is an evil shapeshifter, but she has other powers too.
Neve- But why did you kill her?
Prince Davi- It was the only way I could gain my true for again, if I hadn't then I would of stayed a bear forever.
Neve- Well what are you going to do now?
Encarnada- We should go show mother, she will want to know.

Day 15

I have not presented my Pecha Kucha yet.

Monday, January 18, 2010

Day 14

In my pastiche, most of the events happen in Winter or Spring. My rewrite will start out by describing the characters. Then it will go on with what the characters do everyday. For example Neve and Encarnado help their mother all the time. They go fishing, they clean and help cook as well. It will show how they sleep in the woods where they are safe. Then it will start out in the Winter where Neve helps her mom build a fire every day. Then the bear will come knocking at the door, and they will let him in. Every day of the winter the bear will come and lay by the fire and the girls will play with him.

Then comes Spring, then come Summer where the bear goes off to do what he needs to. Then a couple of days later the girls find the dwarf (Cobra-Encantada) which they help because they are so nice. Then they go along with helping their mother everyday like always, and a few days later they run across the Cobra-Encantada again and help it out of its situation. The Cobra-Encantada is still mean and rude but it doesn't stop the girls. But when they incounter the Cobra-Encantada a third time, they see it get murdered by the bear, so they scream and run away, but they here the bear call after them so they stop and as he appoaches them, he is no longer a bear he is a Prince. Later he introduces Encarnado to his brother, and they get married a long with Neve and Prince Davi. But before they get married their is a carnival for the celebration of Prince Davi's return.

I haven't figured out every little detail of what will happen through out my pastiche but I am still thinking. Can anyone please give me some ideas! I would really appreciate it!

Day 13

I have not figured out the message of my story yet. I would like to make the message about the good and evil. Or about love. I could make it that being nice and good can bring you good things but being mean and bad won’t get you what you want. For example, Snow-White and Rose-Red are nice to everyone and so everyone is nice to them as well, and they end up marrying the Princes. But the dwarf put a curse on the Prince and he ended up dead. Also don’t judge people by the way they look because the bear wasn’t mean even though he looked mean, he was actually a sweet and gentle creature. Well he was actually a cursed Prince.

I don’t know how I am put my culture into my message. I think I will end my story with the moral of “Don’t judge people by the way they look”. Or “Don’t judge an animal by the way it looks”. I need to find out more about my culture to be able to think of a good moral for my pastiche.

Day 12

My pastiche I believe is a fairy tale because there is a curse put apon one of the characters. In the end of the story the curse is lifted because the dwarf who had put the curse on the Prince had being killed. The Prince (the bear) had been turned back into a man and he married Snow-White (Neve) and his brother married Neve's sister "Rose Red (Encarnado)". My pastiche is also a beast folktales because one of the characters is an animal but it is only a curse. He was a bear and he was able to talk and feel just like a human. He was not harmful. He just wanted to be helped.

The classifation of the folktales or fairytales are able to help you understand the stories or what they are about, or more like what kind of stories they are. The message I am trying to present in my pastiche is to teach the culture I am rewriting my story in. I would like it to show the difference between magic and faith. But I don't know how to do that yet.

Friday, January 15, 2010

Day 11

In my story, there really isn't any numbers. There are two sisters, one dwarf, one mother, and two princes. I could use those number as something but I don't know what it would mean. I guess there is a sister for each prince because they both marry one of them. Neve marries Prince Davi and Encarnado marries the other one. There are also the two rose bushes in the front yard which represent the two daughters. There are a lot of twos is my story. There is a time where the two sisters help the dwarf two different times because he gets into some trouble where he might die.

I don't know how to use the number, but I plan to keep the numbers in my rewrite. Instead I am going to change the dwarf into an evil shapeshifting witch. This is a lot hard then I thought. There isn't really any magic in my story except the curse on the Prince Davi (the bear). I would like to put more magic into my rewrite.

Thursday, January 14, 2010

Day 10

In the last 9 blogs I have researched and decided what I would like to name my characters, how I would like my characters to look like and act like. I have decided what I want to change and how I am going to make it into Brazilian culture. I have brainstormed a lot but I do not believe I have gotten very far because I still need to figure out the mythical Brazilian creature I am going to use instead of the dwarf.

I like blogging better then just writing papers and turning them in because typing it fast, I can go back and look at my last blog without being able to lose it. I can also go and look at other peoples blogs and get ideas and comment it on theirs. This experience has showed me how fun and faster typing it. This has improved my writing because usually when I am writing stuff on paper it is easier for me to forget because I do not write that fast but I am a fast typer so it is easier for me to keep up with myself. Plus blogging is a lot more fun and is easier to remember to do everyday.

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

Day 9

My story does not have any fairy tale creatures. It does if you consider the dwarf a fairy tale creature, and I do but I could not find a dwarfs as a Brazilian creature. In the story the dwarf put a curse on the bear. The bear is actually a very handsome man, and if the dwarf dies than the curse is lifted. The dwarf is actually protecting a treasure, but I do not understand who he is hiding it from. I researched Brazilian Mythology and I looked at all the mythical creatures. There was not a dwarf or anything like a dwarf but I found one mythical creature called "Cobra Encantada" (Enchanted Snake), and its a beautiful woman shapeshifts into a hideous snake to guard an immense treasure. The dwarf does the same thing.

I need to find something different then the Cobra Encantada because she guards the treasure and once someone breaks the spell of her shapeshifting into a hideous snake, they get to keep the treasure and the beautiful maiden. The dwarf wasn't a beautiful maiden in the story. I have the idea of changing the Cobra Encantada into a beautiful woman and she wanted to be with Prince Davi, but he didn't want to be with her. So she turned him into a bear to punish him but the only way to break the Cobra Encantada's curse was to kill her. But that wouldn't be using the actually Brazilian Mythology.

Day 8

This image inspires me to make the Encarnado (Rose-red) and Neve (Snow-White) more shy then they appeared in the story as I read it. This image gives me an idea of how I can make them look, or how to describe them. I knew that all the pictures would have Encarnado (Rose-Red) in red and Neve (Snow-White) in white, but I wanted to switch it up, make them wear the opposite color. Make their hair the same color as their name, so you can tell them apart.
I always pictured them as younger. I pictured it being back in the older times wear girls were able to marry at the ages of 13, 14 and so on and so forth. I wanted to make my characters around that age but this picture inspires me to make them a little bit older than that. Instead of have them young so that kid can relate, I am inspired to make it of a fantasy for the children to dream about as they grow up, kind of like Cinderella.

Monday, January 11, 2010

Day 7

The main characters are Neve (Snow-White), Encarnado (Rose-Red), Davi (the bear), and Rosa (the mother). Almost all of the character are main characters, except for the dwarf and Davi’s brother ‘Thiago’. But if I were to say there were any characters that were bigger than the rest, I would say that they would be Neve (Snow-White) and Encarnado (Rose-Red).

Neve is a sweet, gentle, who loves to stay home with her mother and help clean, cook, and when they don’t have to clean or cook, she love to sit and talk or read to her mother. But Encarnado is also sweet and gentle but not as much as Neve. Encarnado love to be outside playing with the animals, chasing the butterflies and catching them. Neve and Encarnado are very close.

Neve has light blue eyes, with white hair. Neve wears red dresses. She loves to help her mother as much as possible. Encarnado has light caramel brown eyes, with a fire like red colored hair. Encarnado wears a white dress. She loves to be outside in the nature. Running around and playing. They both love their mother and love helping people and other animals. They are sweet and amazing girls.

Sunday, January 10, 2010

Day 6

For my language, it will be in Portuguese. I have looked up a few things and it is similar to spanish. For example, hello in spanish is "Hola", but in portuguese hello is "Olá". There isn't much of a difference. Good bye in portuguese is "Adeus". I do not plan to much in portuguese. I would like to put all the names of every character in portuguese but also put some phrases, like hello, goodbye, good morning, good night, good afternoon, please, thank you, and I would like to put the animals in portuguese as well.

Bear in portuguese is "urso". Dwarfs is portuguese is "anão". I plan to put as much as possible in portuguese as long as I can find a good translator for english to portuguese translations. I would like the mom's name to be Rose (Rosa), Snow-White will be White (Neve), the bear will be named Bear (Urso). I have not found a name for Rose-Red, or the dwarfs.

Please comment, I need some ideas.

Saturday, January 9, 2010

Day 5

For the characters in my rewrite, I would like to keep the names of Snow-White, and Rose-Red and keep the idea of them being named after the rose bushes in front of the house. For the mother, there wasn't a name for her so I plan to make up one. I think I would want her name to be 'Rose' so that the daughters names her name relate in some way. The bear did not have a name either but I plan to make up one as well. I think I might make his name 'Teddy' because he is a bear and the girls play with him when he sleeps by the fire. Plus it makes it kind of cute and funny. The dwarf where just described as grumpy but depending on how many they are, I kind of want to use the names from "Snow-White and the 7 Dwarfs". But then I wouldn't be making it my own.

For the Snow-White and Rose-Red, I plan to put them in portuguese. I don't know if there are roses in Brazil, but I want to keep it a flower. I would like to make it a flower that is just as beautiful. I don't know if is ok for me to use the 7-Dwarfs names but in portuguese. If it ok then I plan to use them. If not, I think I can find something different.

Day 4

For the setting of my rewrite of “Snow-White and Rose-Red” is in a house in the forest, in the kitchen, by the fire, out in the forest, at night and during the day, and the mother’s room.

The kitchen is where Snow-White helps her mother cook. The house is where they live. By the fire is where they warm themselves in the winter and the bear and the girls play, and where the bear sleeps. Sometimes the girls fall asleep in the forest, and the mother’s room is where Snow-White hides when the bear appears in the door. When would be night and day, Winter, Spring, Autumn, and Summer.

I haven’t decided the exact time period, but the location will be Amazonas, Brazil. It will take place in the forest just like the story. The story will take place in the day time and night, especially since things happen through out the day. Most of it will happen in the Winter, and Spring. Possibly in the Summer as well. It wouldn’t make since if there wasn’t winter in my rewrite because there would be no reason for the bear to come to the house in the forest if it was not cold outside and he had no shelter. He was covered in snow and it was frozen to his fur so he would need their fire to warm him up, other wise there would be no bear, and no need for the fire to keep him warm.

Thursday, January 7, 2010

Day 3

The most important aspects in my story that I would like to share would be that the daughters are close to their mother and that they are very close as well. That they are sweet, friendly, and helpful to the animals and whoever else needs it. How they help the bear when he needs it and how he is friendly and will not hurt them. I believe all this is important because it shows how the girls are and what they are all about.

They live in the forest and I am changing the climate to instead of going from Summer, to Autumn, to Winter, to Spring with the snow and everything, it will still be that way but instead I plan to make it just a little bit cold in the winter instead of freezing and without the snow. They do not have snow in Brazil. The climate in Brazil is tropical and there is no dry season.

There are a lot of vegetables in the amazon. Wet tropical forests are the most species-rich biome. Aside from the meetings of the waters, the main attractions are tours of the largest biodiversity on the planet, with a fauna of more than 250 species of mammals, 2,000 types of fish and 1,100 types of birds. In the story I am rewriting the girls have to go find fish for their mother and I plan to keep that the same.

Geography in the Amazon: The Amazon River is the home of the highest mountain in Brazil, which stand at 2,994 meters above sea level. The state is almost entirley covered by the Amazon Rainforest. Amazon Rainforest is divided into three types of habitat; igapos which is permanently flooded land, where roots of vegetation always submerge, vareas which are higher than igapos, land is only submerged when rivers are at their hightest during the wet season, and low plateau which higher still, but never submerge. I haven't decided on which division of the Amazon Rainforest I would like to be the setting of my rewrite.

Parintins Folklore Festival is a popular annual celebration held in the Brazilian city of Amazonas and Parintins. It is combines music, dance and all the cultural roots of the state.

I believe I will rewrite my story in the time period where the Spanish explorers gave the Amazon River the name "Amazonias". Less common version states that the term Amazon comes from a local Amerindian word, amassunu, which means "sounds of the waters". I need to find more information about this to tell for sure what I would like to do.

Day 2

I believe some of the symbols in this story would be the mother's rose bushes in the front of the house. She named her two daughters after them so they must be important so I don't plan on changing that. I wanted to change the bear into a man or something of that sort but I can not figure out how to do that so I think I will change him into a different animal to make it just a little different. In Amazonas, Brazil I do not believe they have bears but I will figure out a different animal that is just as scary as a bear.

The components in this story would be Snow-White and Rose-Red as the main characters, there is a scary animal that is friendly, the dwarfs that is cruel and ruid. I haven't exactly figured out the components but I need to look more into that. I want the story to be similar to the one on the website but not to similar. I haven't figured out any other things to change.

Anyone got any ideas?

Day 1

I am rewriting the story called "Snow-White and Rose-Red" by Andrew Lang. I plan to rewrite it in the Hispanic culture. I have choosen this culture because I enjoy the hispanic culture and its customs. I do not think this will be hard but it will not be easy either. I have not decided if i was to change the character's names or if I would like to change the bear in the story to be a different animal so it will fit in with Amazonas, Brasil. Especially since its more of a jungle than a forest.

This store is similar to "Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs" because the story has dwarfs and so does "Snow-White and Rose-Red". It will be kind of difficult because in "Snow-White and Rose-Red" the dwarfs are mean and they are after what the bear has hiden. I believe I will enjoy rewriting this story and giving it its own edge.
